THE RECORD CARRIER AND THE FIRED TYPES IS OBTAINED BY MEANS OF A PERIODICALLY SHIFTED HAMMER CARRIER.

A printer comprises a print head 1 continuously driven along a printing line, the print head including hammers 3 and a continuously rotated type carrier 10. The type carrier comprises a chain having rubber inserts into which typebars 9 in the form of leaf springs are embedded. The hammers 3 are mounted on a hammer carrier 2 supported between leaf springs 12 and reciprocated during motion of the print head and type carrier by an eccentric or cam 8. The print head may be driven along the printing line by a tape, rope, chain or spindle drive (not shown).
