Abstract: System for transmitting signals over a fiber optic link (12) between a transmitter (10) converting an electrical signal into a light signal and a receiver (14) converting the received light signal into an electrical signal. The tramsitter (10) includes a circuit arrangement which generates a data stream of analog signals interspersed with control pulses. This data stream is then transmitted through the fiber optic link (12), and changes in the control pulses are detected at the receiver (14) and are used to adjust the gain of a video amplifier (62).
