Abstract:
A system and method for automatically inserting object services such as persistence, concurrency, recoverability, security and distribution into binary classes in an information handling system employing object oriented technology, includes the steps of registering a description of a class in a name service context, searching the name service context for a class object referred to as a factory with desired constraints on properties, whether the object is operable in a predetermined operational environment, where the search excludes object services constraints, for classes which are found by the search, first select those classes which already support the object services constraints, create in the operational environment a class object with the desired object services features, and adding a particular object services feature if the original class provide the desired feature, and returning the class object to the caller which can then use the class object to create multiple instances thereof.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to regenerate a permanent application object by assigning a key to a new object added to an object base collection and saving each object having an assigned key. SOLUTION: The information operation system 10 is equipped with a high- performance processor 12, a storage system 14, a display subsystem 18 which controls a display device 20, a cursor controller 22, and an I/O controller 24, and those elements are all connected by a system bus 16 to constitute a graphic work station. Here, the object collection of objects is given a name and each object relating to the 1st collection of objects is named by using a 1st key. Then a 2nd key is assigned to respective new objects added to the object base collection, a 3rd key is generated from the 1st and 2nd keys, and the respective objects having the assigned keys are saved.
Abstract:
A method for building an objectbase of persistent objects, includes naming an objectbase collection of objects, naming each object relative to a first collection of objects using a first key, assigning, to each new object to be added to the objectbase collection, a second key, generating a third key from the first and second keys, storing each object with the associated keys generating a reference to each object in the objectbase collection from the third key and one or more system identifiers, creating an instance of an object collection in a database client, identifying a class of each object in the object collection to the instance collection, generating a stream class for persistence of element objects, identifying to the instance collection a mapping between its attributes that are persistent and the corresponding database fields, identifying to the instance collection access control information in the form of one or more predicates, and activating the element objects using the stream.

A system, method and article of manufacture for automatically inserting object services such as persistence, concurrency, recoverability, security and distribution into binary classes in an information handling system employing object oriented technology, includes the steps of registering a description of a class in a name service context, searching the name service context for a class object referred to as a factory with desired constraints or properties, whether the object is operable in a predetermined operational environment, where the search excludes object services constraints, for classes which are found by the search, first select those classes which already support the object services constraints, create in the operational environment a class object with the desired object services features, and adding a particular object services feature if the original class provide the desired feature, and returning the class object to the caller which can then usethe class object to create multiple instances thereof.

Abstract:
A system for efficiently generating keys for subsequently objects during object creation and for finding and activating objects using the generated keys in an object oriented system includes one or more processors, a storage system, one or more I/O controllers, a system bus, operatively connecting the processors, the storage system and the I/O controllers, a system control program for controlling the operation of the system, and an extensible instance manager which generates keys and manages instances of objects under the control of the system control program.
