Abstract:
Dynamic authorization based on focus data is provided to offer a mechanism for selecting an authorization routine, which is applied when the database query is executed, based on a focus of the database query. The database query including reference of a focus object for specifying the focus for the database query is received. The focus object is selected from a plurality of predetermined focus objects(402). Each focus object is defined by a plurality of data relations among data of a database. An authorization filter applied to the database query is selected among the plurality of authorization filters respectively corresponding to the focus objects based on the referred focus object(404). The selected authorization filter is applied to identify more than one condition added to the database query. The database query is modified to include more than one condition(410). The database query is executed to search a set of query results restricted by more than one condition added to the database query.
Abstract:
A system, method and article of manufacture are provided for securing data. Security rules (162) are defined for fields and/or field values. The security rules (162) specify one or more users to which the rules (162) apply. A query (202) is examined for content and a determination is made as to whether security action is required based on the content (e.g., a field and/or a value of the field) and user-specific data.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize overhead process for a server connected to the Internet or other client-server environment. SOLUTION: This device, a program product and a method are provided for optimizing dialogues between the client and the server via an active document for effectively transferring, for example data formatting operation and data verification operation from the server to the client by changing a program code on the server side and performing a portable operation by preparing the active document. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide techniques for invoking an analysis routine running on a parallel computer system to analyze query results. SOLUTION: An interface used to build and perform a database query may be used to invoke a complex analysis routine on a parallel computer system 152 to analyze query results obtained by performing the database query. Alternatively, a user may build a query that includes specific conditions evaluated by an analysis routine on the parallel computer system 152 as opposed to a case selecting an analysis routine after receiving query results. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system, a method, and an article of manufacture for independently providing access to data from a specific shape of physically expressing the data. SOLUTION: One embodiment provides different logical views of a data repository being the same basis by a plurality of data repository abstraction. A plurality of respective data repository abstraction can be associated to different users, and different data sets are thereby disclosed to the respective users. A run time component converts an abstract inquiry into a shape usable for specific physical data expression. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO

Abstract:
The present invention generally is directed to a system, method and article of manufacture for accessing data independent of the particular manner in which the data is physically represented. In one embodiment, a data repository abstraction layer provides a logical view of the underlying data repository that is independent of the particular manner of data representation. In one embodiment, the data repository abstraction layer specifies a location of da ta in a repository and a method for accessing the data. A query abstraction lay er is also provided and is based on the data repository abstraction layer. A runtime component performs translation of an abstract query into a form that can be used against a particular physical data representation.
