Abstract: A graphics processing system has means for generating a map (26) of an image in terms of the individual picture elements or pixels from data (20) defining the boundaries of component areas of the image. The generating means comprises a plurality of paired storage locations called a convex area table (32). Each pair of storage locations is associated with a line of individual picture elements on the image. Processing logic 22 computes display line and displacement values from the boundary information and stores each displacement area value in a free one of the pair of locations for the corresponding display line. The stored displacement values can then be used for generating the full pixel map of the image.
