Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for facilitating error processing of a computing environment provided with a file system. SOLUTION: A portion of functions of an entity is automatically frozen in response to the matter that the entity of the computing environment such as a client of the file system acquires at least one error notice. The acquisition of the error notice responds to an event of a second entity of the computing environment, for example, a server, etc., of the file system. Finally, the frozen function is thawed to continue processing. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for performing a file system reproduction system by utilizing the advantage of the reproduction system of a block level. SOLUTION: In this program, a source site uses a source server and a source storage system, and a target site uses a target server and a target storage system. The source server operates data stored in the source logical unit of the source storage system. The target server prepares the flash copy of a replica volume, and in response to the reception of the first replica volume being the reproduction of the storage volume from the source storage system by the target storage system, the target server performs the restoration of the flash copy of the replica volume. The target server exports the data of the restored flash copy of the replica volume. Thus, the restored flash copy of the replica volume is made available for the client. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
AUTOMATICALLY FREEZING FUNCTIONALITY OF A COMPUTING ENTITY RESPONSIVE TO AN ERROR An arrangement for facilitating error handling of computing environments (100), including those environments (100) having file systems. Responsive to an entity of the computing environment, such as a client (110) of a file system, obtaining, in a step (200), at least an indication of an error, a portion of functionality of the entity is automatically frozen in a step (202). The obtaining is, for instance, responsive to an event of another entity of the computing environment, such as a server (112) of the file system. Eventually, the frozen functionality is thawed, at a step (206) allowing the functionality to proceed.
