Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing method in which a print sheet can be reused. SOLUTION: In order to reuse a print sheet, a region of a print sheet printed with information is detected and a region related to that region is specified as an erasure region. Printed information is then erased from the erasure region by printing a pattern corresponding to the erasure region with erasing ink or toner of different color from that of printing ink or toner. Subsequently, print information is printed with printing ink or toner onto the print sheet from which the information is erased.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To prevent erroneous feed of sheets, by providing a first comparing means for comparing a first threshold voltage which is separate from a predetermined detecting voltage and which determines whether a single sheet or overlapping sheets is/are fed, with a detected voltage with respect to a second sheet, so as to deliver an error signal when the detected voltage indicates an overlapping feed. CONSTITUTION: A first detecting means 7 determines whether a detected voltage becomes equal to a predetermined detecting voltage or not while it changes the sensitivity of a photo-detecting device LED and a phototransistor 2 between a first value which exhibits a predetermined detecting voltage during feed of a sheet having a highest light transmittance and a second value which exhibits a predetermined detecting voltage during feed of a sheet having a lowest light transmittance. When the detected voltage becomes equal to the predetermined detecting voltage, the sensitivity of the photo-detecting device LED and the phototransistor are fixed to those obtained at that time, but if the detected voltage does not become equal to the predetermined detecting voltage, an error signal indicating a feed of overlapping sheets is delivered from the first comparing means 1.
