Abstract: A method for operating a resource-manager (RM) for carrying out a number of business operations comprising transaction operations and non-transaction operations. Initially (a) a non-transaction context is established (230) for the known non-transaction operation followed by (b) switching over (240) to the known non-transaction context, and the known non-transaction operation ( c) is then carried out (250) and completed (d) (260), followed by switching back (e) (270) to a context previously activated before step (b). Independent claims are given (A) for a computer system and (B) for a computer program.

Abstract: Document data in a memory (3) within a data base system (100) are accessed externally by a user (1). The access process takes place using an object server (2) that operates together with a data configuration unit (4). This allows the data in the data base to be made compatible with the user system.

Abstract: A document (6) requested from a data storage system (100) by a user (1) is adapted before sending to the user (1) to the processing capabilities of the user (1), in that it is converted to a data, format preferred by the user (1). In this way, the user-friendliness of the data storage system (100) is increased.

Abstract: The process is used to transmit data between the program of a transmitting system, e.g. platform A, and the program of a receiving system, platform B, where the program is either installed on a common system or on various systems. The data is structured by a container that defines programming objects and the definition of the structure is given by an application programming interface connecting with the user. The container has stored attributes in various data types, e.g. binary, characteristics, integer and floating point numbers.
