Abstract:
Disclosed is a call processing method which is performed by a network terminator (10) located at a subscriber's premises. The network terminator is coupled to a digital network and a communication device at the subscriber's premises and can perform call waiting, caller identification, call conferencing without intervention from a telco's switching system that requires an additional charge to the subscriber for these services. In addition, the network terminator can perform a method which allows two digital communication devices (12) coupled to one S-bus (22) to share a communication session. In another embodiment, up to a six way conference call can be established with an analog telephone (6) coupled to an ISDN network via the network terminator of the present invention.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a call processing method that is executed by network terminators placed in subscriber's premises. SOLUTION: Network terminators are connected to communication devices 6 in a digital network and subscriber's premises and call waiting, caller identification and conference speech are executed without intervention from a telecommunication exchange system that bills an additional charge to a subscriber. Furthermore, the network terminator executes a method by which two digital communication devices connecting to one S bus use a communication session in common. In other mode, a 6-way conference speech at the maximum is established by analog telephone sets connecting to an ISD network via the network terminator.

SOLUTION: The network terminator is connected to a digital network and communication device in the premises of subscribers, and execute call waiting, caller identification, and conference call without intervention from a telecommunication switching system which demands subscribers for additional charges. In addition, the network terminator can perform a method which enables two digital communication devices connected to one S bus to commonly use a communication session. In another embodiment, a maximum of six-way conference call can be established by means of analog telephones connected to an ISDN network through the network terminator.
