Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for embedding a chip in a substrate to form a compound air bearing surface. SOLUTION: One example of this method comprises an operation that fixes the substrate to a position, aligns the chip to a chip receiving slot in the substrate in a first direction, puts adhesive in the chip receiving slot, and aligns the chip to the chip receiving slot in a second direction. The chip is pushed into the adhesive in the chip receiving slot until the air bearing surface of the chip substantially becomes a desired projection with respect to the air bearing surface of the substrate in a third direction. The adhesive is cured while the air bearing surface of the chip is substantially a desired projection in the third direction and the chip is aligned to the chip receiving slot in the first and second directions. Abstract: Eine Vorrichtung enthält einen Empfangsbereich, der dazu gestaltet ist, eine Mehrzahl von Aufnahmen zu empfangen, wobei jede Aufnahme dazu gestaltet ist, zumindest ein Bandspulenpaar darauf zu tragen. Ein Magnetkopf ist dazu gestaltet, Datenvorgänge auf Magnetaufzeichnungsbändern der Bandspulenpaare durchzuführen. Ein Positionierungsmechanismus ist dazu gestaltet, den Magnetkopf selektiv auf ein ausgewähltes der Bandspulenpaare auszurichten. Eine Produktvorrichtung gemäß einem weiteren Ansatz enthält eine Aufnahme, auf der sich ein Bandspulenpaar befindet. Die Aufnahme ist dazu gestaltet, in einen Empfangsbereich einer Vorrichtung eingesetzt zu werden, der dazu gestaltet ist, eine Mehrzahl von Aufnahmen zu empfangen.
