Abstract: A latch circuit in which false output and skewing of binary output signals on the latch output terminal are eliminated comprising conventional set and hold-clear logic sections. The improvement comprising logic means having an input terminal adapted for connection to the set signals and an output terminal connected to the output latch terminal and being responsive to the set signals for maintaining the state of the latch output terminal during a clock signal transition, and means for simultaneously applying binary clock signals of a first state to the set section and binary clock signals of opposite state to the hold-clear sections so as to allow one or the other to be activated.

Abstract: 992,449. Selective printers; printing processes. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATION. Nov. 21, 1963 [Dec. 24, 1962], No. 45926/63. Headings B6C and B6F. Printing processes; pneumatic impression arrangements.-A method of printing on pressure-sensitive record material 34, Fig. 1, including a paper sheet 35 superimposed on a pressure-sensitive ink bearing paper 36, comprises the steps of producing a shock wave pressure disturbance by a spark discharge across gap 16 of electrodes 14, 15 in a compressible gas and directing the disturbance produced in a volume of the gas confined in a cavity 31 against the record material through one or more apertures 33 cut in a stencil plate 32, the apertures defining a pattern of a character to be printed. Type-band machines; screen-printing machines; machines forming characters by direct fluid pressure on ink ribbons.-A line-at-a-time printer for printing on pressure-sensitive record medium 50, Fig. 5, comprises an electrode support and shock wave reflector 52 formed of an electrically insulating material, e.g. moulded plastics and supports a pair of electrodes 54, 53 for generating a spark discharge across a gap 16 on discharging of a condenser 17. The disturbance is generated within a cavity 56 of a focusing plate 55 and which is directed towards a stencil member in the form of a band 57 having a plurality of character apertures 58 and mounted on a pair of spaced drive pulleys 59, 60. Upon arrival of the various characters 58 at their corresponding point positions the corresponding pairs of the electrodes 54, 53 are energized to generate shock waves within the corresponding cavities 56 and cause an impression of the characters on the record medium 50 backed by a platen 51.
