Abstract: IMPROVED SILICON THERMAL PRINTHEAD FOR ON-THE-FLY PRINTING On-the-fly thermal print definition and thermal printing speed are enhanced using a rectangular print mesa for thermal printing with the narrow dimension in the direction of relative motion between print element and print medium and using longer electrical pulses having an amplitude which drives the print element temperature only slighly above the transition temperature of the thermographic print medium.
