Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remotely access an initial set value included in a client by accessing only one set value among initial set value, in response to the reception of a server by the client. SOLUTION: A server 100 sends a command for accessing only one specific set value among initial set values of the client 104 to a client 104. The client 104 accesses only the specific initial set value in response to the reception of the command. Other initial set values are not accessed. While the client 104 is powered off, the individual initial set values can be accessed. The command that the server 100 sends is a read or write command for the specific initial set value. The command includes an offset for identifying the specific initial set value to be accessed. For example, when the command is a 'read' command, the value stored in the storage location discriminated by the offset is read out.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improve method and system for removing a conflict between peripheral devices in the multi-bus data processing system. SOLUTION: The system includes a peripheral component interconnect(PCI) bus having plural slots for interconnecting peripheral devices and an industrial standard architecture(ISA) bus 242 having plural slots for interconnecting peripheral devices in automatically pulling-out constitution. Those are used in the multi-bus data processing system to remove a conflict between peripheral devices. The slots included in the ISA bus 242 include rest lines disabling relative slots temporarily in response to the supply of electric power to the data processing system to evade power transition problems.
