    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device and a product for a computer implementing technique for generating a file copy while minimizing the mount and arrangement of a storage volume. SOLUTION: A request for the generation of a file copy designing a file selection standard is received, and a matched file fulfilling the selection standard is identified, and the matched file is found on a storage volume, and the file is copied to a copy set. The decision of the order of the file copy is optimized by putting a larger emphasis on the relative storage place of the matched file than that of the order of the requests for the copy. In this method, it is guaranteed that each matched file is included in the copy set without being copied. The storage volume includes a successive access volume and a random access volume, and the stored file is provided with a primary copy on the successive access volume or the random access volume, and probably a secondary copy on the successive access volume.
