Abstract: The basic device for connecting fluid logic circuits comprises a base plate, a sealing film, a back seal plate, a circuit plate, a front seal plate and a gasket adapted to have a plurality of logic modules mounted thereon. The front seal plate is perforated to provide for connection of every possible logic input and output to the circuit plate which is provided with perforations and interconnecting channels for the required hole-to-hole connections. The back seal plate seals the channels and is perforated to allow communication with input and output lines. The seal film is perforated only at selected locations and the base plate is completely perforated with holes adapted to accept terminals for the input and output tubing connections.

Abstract: INK JET PRINTER APPARATUS AND METHOD OF PRINTING An ink jet printer prints dot matrix characters by removing unwanted drops from a sequence of uniformly spaced drops in an ink jet stream and subjecting the remaining print drops to a vertical raster deflection in timed relation with relative horizontal motion of the jet stream and a record medium. Selected print drops are individually deflected fractional amounts in either the horizontal or vertical direction prior to the vertical raster deflection to cause the selected print drops to be deposited at positions intermediate the coordinate intercepts of a rectilinear matrix pattern to cause dot matrix characters to be printed with arcuate line segments and various angles corresponding with conventional character shapes.

Abstract: METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING THE VELOCITY OF INK DROPS IN AN INK JET PRINTER In an ink jet printer, drops are generated at a test frequency which is a harmonic of the drop generation rate for printing. If an error in velocity is detected at the test frequency, a coarse correction velocity is made to bring the correct number of drops within the range of onehalf the wavelength at the nth drop location relative to a drop detector. Drops are then generated at the printing frequency and a fine correction in the velocity is made if a velocity error is detected.

Abstract: CARRIER TRAVERSE CONTROL FOR A SERIAL PRINTER In a serial printer a movable type character element such as a ball, disc or the like is rotated to present different type characters to the print position. The carrier for the type element is moved along the print line at a predetermined maximum velocity so long as it is possible to move the type element to the next character in time required to move the carrier from one print position to the next. If the type character set-up time is greater, the carrier is run at a slower speed and is then returned to the predetermined velocity for printing.

Abstract: MULTI-NOZZLE INK JET PRINTER AND METHOD OF PRINTING A line printer has a print head with plural nozzles arranged in a single row generally transverse to the direction of relative motion of the print head and a print medium. The nozzles are spaced plural dot positions from each other corresponding to a plural dot segment of a single dot matrix character stroke. When the row of nozzles is slanted relative to the direction of motion, drops from the nozzles are used to print stroke segments in plural character strokes simultaneously.
