Abstract: A system for qubit drive and readout comprises: a lossless, e.g. superconducting, microwave signal distributer and a lossless, e.g. superconducting, microwave switch connected to a quantum system. A first input is connectable to the signal distributer. A second input is connectable to the switch. The first input is configured to read out qubit state from the quantum system via the lossless microwave signal distributor. The system may further comprise a first circulator to connect the first input and a quantum-limited amplifier to the signal distributer. A second circulator may be provided to connect the second input and a load dump to the microwave switch. The quantum system may include qubits each connected individually to its own readout resonator at its own port, each qubit having a qubit frequency, all of the qubits may be driven by the microwave switch and read via the signal distributor. A microwave signal combiner may also be connected to the quantum system and the first input may read out the qubit state via the signal combiner as well as the signal distributor. The signal combiner may comprise an amplifier.
