Abstract:
A data processing apparatus for selecting a watermark to be embedded generates, for each of a plurality of possible watermarks, a variation indication indicating the variation between object data and the object data with the embedded watermark and a detectability indicator indicating how easily the watermark may be detected. One of the plurality of watermarks is then selected based on the two indicators and is embedded. Preferably the selected watermark gives high detectability and low variation. The watermark may comprise additional information data relating to separate blocks of an image.
Abstract:
A system is provided with a means for storing layout data of visible information to be printed on a physical medium; a means for storing layout data of invisible information; a means for calculating extraction accuracy of the invisible information by using the layout data of the visible information and the layout data of the invisible information; a means for judging whether the extraction accuracy of the invisible information satisfies a prescribed condition or not; and a means for generating data for printing the invisible information from the layout data of the invisible information when the extraction accuracy satisfies the prescribed condition.
Abstract:
It is one object of the present invention to prevent embedded verification information from being lost even when a quantization process is performed after verification information has been embedded. A pre-embedding portion 32 converts a image data value so that quantized values not changing by error introduced through the embedding process. A hash value calculator 300 calculates a hash value using image data and key information, and a hash value embedding portion 302 embeds the hash value in the image data. An output format converter 304 quantizes the image data in which the hash value is embedded, and generates JPEG data.
Abstract:
An image of a sample print printed to obtain parameters is picked up by using "a parameter obtaining device" that meets the standards of an instrument for the invention of "the electronic scrap system. " Then, the picked-up image is captured by a DTP system, and color data of a needed position are imported to a parameter DB. Thereby, parameters for simulation to be used in an invisible code printing support system can be easily inputted. Use of this method eliminates the necessity of figuring out parameters through experiments and the like, and of inputting these parameters as numerical values. In addition, since this method uses a physical medium and inks to be actually used, as they are, their optical characteristics, an influence of a blue component of invisible light emitted from an ultraviolet LED, and the like can be inputted all together as a picked-up image. Accordingly, it becomes possible to input parameters capable of accurately reproducing actual printed conditions, and thereby to produce printed materials providing high reading accuracy.
