Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-interruption type method in order to free a storage of a portable device when the storage is filled up. SOLUTION: A non-interruption type method is provided to free a storage of a portable device such as a digital camera when the storage is filled up. This task is attained by means of a network of a server which communicates with a portable device existing in the server zone via a radio channel. When it's detected that a storage of a camera, for example, is virtually filled with photographed images or satisfies another standard, the server transfers the stored images to a storage server without interrupting the operations carried out by the owner of the camera. Then the camera owner can load all transferred images into his/her own computer from the storage server after he/she returns home.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make satisfactory the communication or exchange of data between a server and a moving user by moving an application program as well when a client is to move into the communication range of the next computer. SOLUTION: When a person 108 is to go out of house and to move to an automobile 104, a briefcase 106 is moved from a TV 102 to the server in the automobile 104. At such a time, support from a main server 105 is required for completing the preparation of a virtual briefcase in the automobile 104. The main server 105 communicates with any one of servers 102 and 115 storing its own stored original briefcase or copy thereof, reads a package out of there and copies it to the automobile 104. The copied briefcase 106 has a program, with which the function of a device integrated therein can be executed, and a data base and communication with this briefcase 106 can be remarkably accelerated rather than communication through the main server 105.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit an accurate speech recognition communication between a portable sound signal preprocessor(SSP) device and an automatic speech/ speaker recognition(ASSR) by converting feature vector data produced from digital signals into acoustic signals and communicating through a communication channel. SOLUTION: A ciphering device 130 ciphers data preprocessed by a digital signal processor(DSP) 120, and guarantees a safe exchange of the signals through a telephone line. A compression device 140 compresses the preprocessed data before transfer, and increases the data in the quantity forwarded and transmitted by audio signals when a band width of the line is narrow. And, the preprocessing of digitized data from a microphone 10 generates a sequence of a feature vector representing a speech pattern spoken to the microphone 100. Further, a receiver part of an acoustic coupler 150 converts audio signals from an ear pad of the receiver into digital signals to process them with DSP 120.
