Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for encrypting a plaintext file so as to store the plaintext file in a storage device, which performs creation, reading, writing, optimization and storage.SOLUTION: Encryption of a plaintext file 301 includes a step for creating an encryption file 303 including a header 304 and encryption sections 302-1 to 302-4 allocated to one or more sizes regulated in advance in a storage device, a step for generating processed data chunks 307-1 to 307-4 by encrypting unprocessed data chunks 302-1 to 302-4 corresponding to one or more continuously acquired plaintext file 301, and a step for continuously storing the processed data chunks in encryption sections 305-1 to 305-2 according to the order of receiving the chunks, wherein the encryption sections are an atom element of encryption/decryption operation in an input-output transaction of a plaintext file.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform creation, read, write, optimization and preservation in a method and system for compressing and preserving a logical data object inside a storage device.SOLUTION: Compression of an original file 201 includes the steps of: creating, in a storage device, a compressed file 203 having a header 204 and compressed sections 202-1 to 202-6 allocated with one or more predefined sizes; generating processed data chunks 207-1 to 207-6 by compressing one or more sequentially acquired chunks 202-1 to 202-6 of non-processed data corresponding to the original file 201; and sequentially storing the processed data chunks in the compressed sections 205-1 to 205-2 according to the reception order of the chunks, wherein the compressed sections are atomic elements of compression/decompression operations in input/output transactions of the original file.
