    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the easy-to-use execution monitoring of processing inside a digital computer by outputting analysis data corresponding to setting performed by a user by a freely selectable time sequence and at a freely selectable speed. SOLUTION: The analysis data inside a main memory 223 are operated corresponding to the setting performed by the user so as to output the analysis data by the freely selectable time sequence and at the freely selectable speed. A controller 224 reads the analysis data from the memory 223 corresponding to the setting of the user, processes them and then transfers the analysis data to an output unit 222 and the data are supplied corresponding to the setting performed by the user. The analysis data are supplied similarly to the case of performing a backup operation. The user can access any moment during the backup operation, jump to any time period during the backup operation and change the display speed of the analysis data.

    Abstract: A method for notifying a client application of a background processing event in an enterprise resource planning system comprising creating a placeholder job in the enterprise resource planning system, in response to a request for notification of a future background event, wherein the placeholder job is configured to notify a server component of the background event. The placeholder job is preferably scheduled to be executed in response to the background processing event. A server component is preferably provided for serving a remote function call wherein the server component is configured to notify the client application of the background processing event. The server component is preferably a callback listener arranged at the backend of the enterprise resource planning system and communicates with a callback server arranged on the client side. The placeholder job is preferably a program written using the Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP) language and is configured to call a plurality of servers or server components. The placeholder job may listen for background processing events in the enterprise resource planning system. A computer server component notifies a client application of a background processing event in an enterprise resource planning system when a callback notification is issued by the enterprise resource planning system.
