Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system to efficiently present database query results via an audio user interface(AUI). SOLUTION: This system for presenting the database query results via the AUI may include a database manager for managing database query operations for at least one database and by the database query operations, database query result items can be made. The system may further include a dialog manager for managing presentation of the database query result items, in parallel with the database query operations, via the AUI. The AUI includes a text audio translation processor for translating the database query result items into audible voices and an audio recognition engine for translating audio input into recognizable texts by the dialog manager and further may include a barge-in function.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to select one of plural acoustic information sources in voice when acoustic information from at least two acoustic information sources simultaneously exists, and next to acoustically discriminate the acoustic information source selected by the user from the other acoustic information source by resetting at least one of plural acoustic information sources. SOLUTION: In the method for simultaneously providing a large number of information sources, the acoustic information is simultaneously provided from at least two acoustic information sources and the user voice selection of at least one acoustic information source is permitted. Besides, at least one acoustic information source is reset. Further, at least one acoustic information source selected by the user is acoustically identified from the other acoustic information source by such resetting.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfy a request which is thought for a long time in the conventional technology by using a speech recognition system with speaker recognition technology together with a computer based voice mail system. SOLUTION: This method for transcribing a voice mail message comprises plural steps having a step to provide a computer voice mail message stored in an audio file to a computer voice recognition system first and a step to request processing to the computer voice mail message to a speaker identification process in the speech recognition system second. Especially, the speaker identification process can identify a registered speaker as a source of the computer voice mail message.

Abstract: A method of proofreading and correcting dictated text contained in an electronic document comprises the steps of: selecting proofreading criteria for identifying textual errors contained in the electronic document; playing back each word contained in the electronic document; and, marking as a textual error each played back word in nonconformity with at least one of the proofreading criteria. The method can further comprise the step of editing each the marke d textual error identified in the marking step. In particular, the editing step can include reviewing each the marked textual error identified in the marking step; accepting user specified changes to ea ch marked textual error reviewed in the reviewing step; and, unmarking each marked textual error corrected by the user in the accepting step. Also, the reviewing step can include highlighting each t he word in the electronic document corresponding to the marked textual error marked in the marking ste p; and, displaying an explanation for each marked textual error in a user interface. Moreover, the reviewing step can further include suggesting a recommended change to the marked textual error; displaying the recommended change in the user interface; and, accepting a user specified preference to substitute the recommended change for the marked textual error.

Abstract: A method for concurrent presentation of multiple audio information sources. In the method, audio information from at least two audio information sources is concurrentl y presented, and a user speech selection of one of the audio information sources is accepted. At lea st one of the audio information sources can then be reconfigured. The reconfiguration audibly distinguishes the user selected audio information source from other audio information sources.

Abstract: A speaker identification process can identify an enrolled speaker as a source of a computer voice mail message. responsive to the identification of the enrolled speaker, the computer voice mail message can be submitted to a speech conversion process in a speech recognition system. The speech conversion process can perform speech- to-text conversion of the computer voice mail message using speaker enrolment data corresponding to the identified enrolled speaker.

Abstract: A method and system for improving the speech command recognition accuracy of a computer speech recognition system uses event-based constraints to recognize a spoken command. The constraints are system states and events, which include system activities, active applications, prior commands and an event queue. The method and system is performed by monitoring events and states of the computer system and receiving a processed command corresponding to the spoken command. The processed command is statistically analyzed in light of the system events and states as well as according to an acoustic model. The system then identifies a recognized command corresponding to the spoken command.
