Abstract: The accounting system is operator-oriented and includes arithmetic and stored program facilities. The system features entry of program instructions through a ''''program by example'''' routine in which the operator enters control (program) information concurrently with the entry of data during conventional typing routines. That is, as the problem is worked, the steps in the operation are stored in program memory. The system is then able to execute the program in a repetitive manner accepting additional keyed-in data, performing calculations, and printing necessary output documents. The system is particularly useful with accounting forms having information arranged in columns. Additional features involve manipulation of column registers, one associated with each column, the branching techniques, decimal point control, determination of true percentages (Percent Equal), use of the Alpha Emit function and the provision of various input and output devices including a magnetic card apparatus.

Abstract: The present case is directed to a cartridge suitable for a disc recording member, as an example. In a preferred embodiment, provision is made for feeding discs into the cartridge from the side and ejecting discs from the front of the cartridge. The cartridge has a manual kicker for ejection of discs by the operator. Usually, discs are placed in the cartridge one at a time but facilities are included that enable entry of a plurality of discs through the eject opening by use of an incline member cooperating with a retaining spring.

Abstract: 1,224,970. Circuit board assemblies. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP. 12 Jan., 1970 [16 Jan., 1969], No. 1357/70. Heading HlR. The invention, a ventilated circuit board assembly for mounting in a machine frame, comprises circuit boards (glass epoxy laminated structure) 17, 19, and frame members 11, 13, 15 (thermosetting filled phenolic resin) secured in a stack so that the circuit boards are trapped by the resilient members 43 on the end frames 11, 15 and abutments 45 on the inside frame 15 thus providing location (pins 63, 64 and holes 65, 66) and vibration damped support for the circuit boards. Rubber cushioning members 41 which may be replaced by dome-shaped rubber bumpers on projections 43 are provided. The circuit boards carry connecting shrouds 53, 75 on the connector projections 73 to effect interconnection and external connection (Figs. 2 and 3, not shown). Additional circuit boards and frame members may be included and ventilation is by convection in the channels formed by the abutment and resilient members.
