Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol) based voice system where the design and installation of voice applications maintain a state separated from the design and installation of IP telephony systems. SOLUTION: A VoIP compatible voice server includes a voice application that can be configured to make communication with a VoIP telephony gateway server via a VoIP communication path. Furthermore, the VoIP compatible voice server includes a VoIP compatible call control interface leading to the VoIP telephony gateway server and the VoIP compatible call control interface builds up the VoIP communication path. In an operation, the voice application receives a VoIP compatible packet via the VoIP communication path. As a result, digitized voice data can be reconfigured with the VoIP compatible packet. The digitized voice data are converted into a voice-text. Furthermore, the text is synthesized with the digitized voice data, and the digitized voice data is capsulated into the VoIP compatible packet, which is transmitted to the telephony gateway server via the VoIP communication path.

Abstract:
YO988-030 A color display device which includes dither apparatus for each primary color to be displayed. A dither matrix provides a dither signal output as a function of the position of a pixel on the color display device. An input primary color signal includes an integer signal and a fraction signal. The integer signal is incremented by an incrementer. There is means for providing an output primary color signal which is the incremented signal whenever a predetermined relationship exists between the dither signal and the fraction signal, and which is the integer signal whenever the predetermined relationship does not exist.

Abstract:
This invention provides a method of and apparatus for compressing digital video color signals derived from a natural image and generating display signals for a color image composed of pixels derived from the compressed signals in which digital color signals representative of color depth intensities of three colors for each pixel to be displayed, each color signal having at least four bits representing the color intensity of a corresponding color for a corresponding pixel and arranged from most to least significant bits, are received; a digital dither signal for each pixel to be displayed is generated; a selected number of the most significant bits of each received color signal are summed with the corresponding generated dither signal; a selected number of the least significant bits of the summed color and dither signals are discarded to compress the corresponding received color signal; the compressed color signals related to a common pixel are concatenated to generate a digital output signal having a predetermined bit length less than the summed bit lengths of the received digital color signals and representative of the depth intensities of three colors for the common pixel; and analog display driver signals representative of the color intensities of pixels to be displayed are generated by selecting from a color lookup table stored in a digital to analog converter analog signals corresponding to the stored output signals.
Abstract:
A system comprises at least one processing unit for processing a document retrieved via a communications network. The processing unit at least executes a Voice Browser application configured to audibly present voice content from the document and to identify a reference in the document that specifies visual content for visual presentation; and a Visual Browser application configured to visually present the visual content. The Voice Browser application and the Visual Browser application are separate applications. The Voice Browser application is configured to provide the identified reference to the Visual Browser application, and the Visual Browser application is configured to retrieve the visual content specified by the identified reference for visual presentation. Alternatively, the Visual Browser application is configured to identify a reference in the document that specifies voice content for audible presentation, and to provide the identified reference to the Voice Browser application, with the Voice Browser application configured to retrieve the voice content specified by the identified reference for audible presentation.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for concurrently accessing network-based electronic content in a Voice Browser and a Visual Browser can include the steps of retrieving a network-based document formatted for display in the Visual Browser; identifying in the retrieved document a reference to the Voice Browser, the reference specifying electronic content formatted for audible presentation in the Voice Browser; and, transmitting the reference to the Voice Browser. The Voi ce Browser can retrieve the specified electronic content and audibly present the electronic content. Concurrently, the Visual Browser can visually present the network-based document formatted for visual presentation in the Visual Browser. Likewise, the method of the invention ca n include the steps of retrieving a network-based document formatted for audible presentation in th e Voice Browser; identifying in the retrieved document a reference to the Visual Browser, the reference specifying electronic content formatted for visual presentation in the Visual Browser; and, transmitting the reference to the Visual Browser. The Visual Browser can retrieve the specifi ed electronic content and visually present the specified electronic content. Concurrently, the Voi ce Browser can audibly present the network-based document formatted for audible presentation in the Voice Browser.
Abstract:
Method has the following steps: calling up a net based document using a visual browser, identifying a reference in the document using the voice browser, where the reference is to electronic contents in acoustic format, transfer of the reference to the voice browser, calling up the specific content using the voice browser and simultaneous visual depiction of the net-based document at the same time as the voice browser is used to depict the spoken content. An Independent claim is made for machine readable memory that can be used to run a computer program for the simultaneous access to voice bases and visual based electronic content files. An Independent claim is also made for a multi-mode browser.
Abstract:
Method and apparatus for rendering data for display. The data represents a model space and the method includes the following steps. A first step associates individual points in the model space with individual vertices (V) of an irregular grid cell enclosed by faces. Each of the points has an associated luminosity value and an associated opacity value. A next step orders the faces of the grid cells. The faces are preferably ordered by depth referenced to a view plane. A further step processes individual faces for determining, for all viewing rays that project from pixels on the view plane and that intersect the face being processed, an amount of light arriving at the pixel. The amount of light arriving at the pixel is a function of both the luminosity and the opacity of a grid cell that lies adjacent to the face and through which the viewing ray passes.
