Abstract:
Techniques are disclosed for allocation of resources under the control of resource managers and the choice and coordination of resource acquisition protocols to communicate with these resource managers. The resource managers may be distributed and heterogeneous. For example, a technique for use by a service provider for allocating one or more resources from multiple resources associated with multiple resource managers based on at least one service agreement offer from a service client comprises the following steps/operations. At least one service agreement offer is obtained. A resource allocation is automatically determined based on the obtained service agreement offer. The automated step/operation of determining the resource allocation comprises: (i) coordinating selection of a resource acquisition protocol from among multiple resource acquisition protocols for use in communicating with the multiple resource managers to acquire one or more resources associated therewith; and (ii) evaluating a performance associated with one or more of the multiple resource acquisition protocols.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for automatically providing resources in order to realize a service contract. SOLUTION: For example, the technology to be used by a service provider to automatically provide one or more resources on the basis of at least one service contract application of a service subscriber has the following step/operation. The technology acquires at least the one service contract application. The technology acquires at least one execution plan template. Next, the technology automatically derives providing description according to the service contract application and the execution plan template, and the providing description can be used to constitute one or more resources and provide the service subscriber with a service. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for managing a workflow by a workflow management system for managing the workflow portions of a distributed workflow. SOLUTION: This method for distributed workflow management comprises the steps of defining the common specifications of the distributed workflow used for the workflow management system, specifying by using the common workflow specifications what workflow management system takes charge of any workflow portion, generating each image of the distributed workflow in each workflow management system, and notifying one real workflow management system based on the common workflow specifications of the state of progress of the workflow portion managed by the workflow management system in the other organization. In the workflow management system which receives a notification, the display of the state of the progress on a distributed workflow image is updated together with the state of the progress of the workflow portion managed by the other real workflow management system. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assist electronic commercial transaction by providing a convenient and computerized means for insuring that transaction is properly authorized so as to be performable consequently. SOLUTION: A transaction authorizing method for operating on a computer network including plural mutually-connected computers and plural resources is provided. Each computer includes a processor, a memory and an input/output device, and each resource connected operationally to at least one computer to carry out at least one activity in a process flow. This method extracts at least one type of job certification to be related with authorization and confirms whether job certification itself is reliable or not to organize the electronic authorization of the transaction in an examinable manner. This invention provides authorizing structure based on a job to unnecessitate individually authorizing respective and all the signatures concerning the transaction. This structure can be accessed on a public network in order to confirm the authorization of the transaction.
