Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire transactional characteristics by including a transactional layer through which all messages sent to an object pass. SOLUTION: An object adapter 14 is interposed between an object request broker(ORB) 13 and a server 15 and operates as a transaction layer which imposes transactional characteristics on a message between objects. Then recovery operation of persistent object service(POS) 18 is used to activate the in- storage-device version of an object being the target of the transactional operation. Further, storing operation is used to fix the state of the object when comitted. Further, this is represented as state definitions including a hold set of messages which are messages generated by respective transactions and do not have corresponding slave transaction generated yet.
