Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a conductive polymer capable of expressing not only excellent electric characteristics but also excellent mechanical and physical characteristics (e.g. elastic modulus, impact resistance, heat resistance and weather resistance) or its precursor by introducing side chains to a base polymer. SOLUTION: A conductive polymer (A) having side chains, and a precursor (B) of the polymer A. The precursor B is obtained e.g. by polymerizing a monomer mixture containing a monomer having two or more polymerization sites [e.g. a monomer of the formula: X-(M)n [X is a base unit such as aniline unit: M is a polymerizable functional site such as an amino group; (n) is an M site number of >1] (concretely, a mixture of aniline with 1,3-phenylene diamine). The polymer A is obtained by subjecting the precursor B to a doping reaction such as an oxidation reaction, a reduction reaction or a protonation reaction.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric conductive polymer that is branched from a polyfunctionally polymerizable compound and has branched structures formed from a plurality of polymerizable compounds. SOLUTION: The objective electric conductive polymer is formed from a polymer prepared by polymerizing a plurality of polymerizable compounds having different functional numbers. The polymerizable compound has the structural formula: X-(M)n wherein M is the polymerization site and the number of the polymerization sites is n>=1; X is the basic constitution element. The objective electric conductive polymer is obtained from polymerizable compounds having different constitution elements, polymerization sites and different n values.
