Abstract: A computer implemented method determines a placement of an application being added to a network. The method includes determining a logical-physical mapping for the application. Sub-graphs in the logical-physical mapping are identified. A stored application in a catalog of applications previously used in the network is located. The stored application includes one of the sub-graphs in the logical-physical mapping. An experiment is generated, performed by a computing device running a neural network model, using the sub-graphs. The experiment includes inducing a physical node mapping for the sub-graph. A cost function associated with a placement of the application being added to the network to one or more physical nodes in the induced physical node mapping is determined.

Abstract: A hierarchical topic model may be learned from one or more data sources. One or more dominant words in a selected cluster may be iteratively removed using the hierarchical topic model. The dominant words may relate to one or more primary topics of the cluster. The learned hierarchical topic model may be seeded with one or more words, n-grams, phrases, text snippets, or a combination thereof to evolve the hierarchical topic model, wherein the removed domain words are reinstated upon completion of the seeding.

Abstract: A method for anonymizing location information of a mobile device 110 is disclosed comprising the steps of: providing a trusted edge server 202 at a network edge; the mobile device intercepting a request for access to location information made by an application and redirecting the request 310 to the trusted edge server; the trusted edge server obfuscating the location information based on the location of other mobile devices in the vicinity of the mobile device; the trusted edge server returning 312 the obfuscated location information to the mobile device; and the mobile device sending the obfuscated location information to the application 314. The mobile device may compute a box within which the obfuscated location information is to be and submit it to the trusted edge server, which then verifies that the obfuscation provided by the box is sufficient. The desired extent of location obfuscation and level of anonymity may be provided by an end user and submitted to the trusted edge server, which verifies that the level of anonymity is achieved for the desired level of location obfuscation. Alternatively, the trusted edge server may compute a box within which the obfuscated location is to be, preferably to achieve a desired level of anonymity.

Abstract: For caching of cognitive applications in a communication network a first input signal from a sensor device is detected by a proxy having a cache associated therewith. A representation of the first input signal is computed and sent to a server. A handle function is applied to the representation of the first input signal to compute a first handle value corresponding to the first input signal. The representation of the first input signal is transformed using a cognitive processing model of an answer function to compute a first answer value. A content of the cache is modified by the proxy by storing the first answer value in association with the first handle value in the cache.
