Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a system and a device for diagnosis and self-healing of a server failure in a server farm. SOLUTION: An autonomic server farm 120 can include a plurality of servers 150 enabled to respond to requests received from clients 110 outside the server farm 120. A resource director such as an IP sprayer or a network dispatcher 140 may be configured so that a request is transmitted to a selected server according to resource allocation algorithm such as random, round robin and the minimum use frequency. Furthermore, client assistance management for failure diagnosis and the self-healing can be provided by connecting a client assistance failure detection logic with a resource director unlike the conventional server farm in which management of failure diagnosis and the self-healing depends only on the capability of a resource director. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a system and a program for scheduling a plurality of events. SOLUTION: The method includes storing a schedule of a first event out of the plurality of events, storing a schedule of a second event out of the plurality of events in relation to the first event, and automatically rescheduling the second event to maintain the relativity of the second event to the first event when the schedule of the first event is changed. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for managing an instant message containing display of a window for an incoming message, and managing status information on an instant messaging user. SOLUTION: In one aspect, the instant messaging user defines policy information to determine a response to an arriving instant message in a program. For example, the policy controls whether or not a new window pops up for a newly arriving message, if preferable, other attributes in the window can be designated. In the other aspect, the instant messaging user defines an attribute relevant to a method providing his instant messaging status to the other user. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
The invention provides a method, system, and program product for scheduling a plurality of events. In one embodiment, the invention includes scheduling a first event of a plurality of events; scheduling a second event of the plurality of events as dependent upon the first event of the plurality of events; and automatically rescheduling the second event to maintain the dependency of the second event on the first event, in the case that the scheduling of the first event is changed.
