    Abstract: A system collects information associated with movement between locations. The system includes individual cards. Each individual card has a storage area and an interactor for receiving promotional unit data. A plurality of promotional units are also included. Each promotional unit transmits respective promotional unit data to any card with which it interacts. The promotional unit data within each card may then be downloaded to determine with which promotional units interaction has occurred.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide setting specific to a driver by providing a customized setting list for a first user at least, reading first information segment from the list, writing second information segment from the information provided in the reading step into a function device in a vehicle. SOLUTION: In a storage device 100 built in a portable data carrying device such as a smart card, device setting specific to a particular vehicle driver is stored. When functional usage is required, the storage device 100 is submitted to a storage device accepting device 110 so as to be read by means of a control device 130. The control device 130 reads a single/plurality of function device/ devices 120 and processes data from the storage device 100 and the function device/devices 120 in combination. The processed data are written in the storage device 100 via the storage device accepting device 110. In this way, device setting specific to a driver and concerned with comfortableness, functions, safety, or a combination of them can be customized.

SOLUTION: The certified electronic coupon issuing system is constituted of a computer 110 for executing issue software 115, an advertisement display computer 120 for executing advertisement display software 123 for transmitting a request to a coupon to the computer 110, a digitally signed electronic coupon 150, a payment smark card reader/writer 160 and a customer's smart card 170, etc. The software 115 extracts a customer's interesting profile or the like from a request, selects an electronic advertisement coincident with the profile or the like and prepares a digitally signed electronic coupon. A receiver can verifies the digital signature by using a transmitter's disclosed key and message.

    Abstract: Individual driver selected settings for each of a plurality of functional devices 120, such as seat position, steering wheel height, radio, heating/ventilation and vehicle performance and driving comfort controllers may be held in a storage device 100 such as a smart card, floppy disk etc. The storage device can be read by one or more acceptance devices 110 in or on the vehicle and controller 130 transfers the settings to the functional devices. Desired settings may be stored on the storage device using the same equipment after the driver has set them manually. The system may be used, in conjunction with a global positioning system and radio control, to impose speed limits and location/distance and route restrictions on specific drivers. Data logging of driver and vehicle performance may also be carried out by the controller and transferred when desired to the storage device.
