Abstract: Selecting a version of software for a message queuing software product to perform a task. Rules using characteristics of different versions and information describing the task to be performed is select message queuing software product starting with the most preferred version, based on whether the software component is available for use. If a determination is made that none of the rules apply to the task to be performed, the task is performed with the most preferred version of the message queuing software component. This may be carried out by a decision making layer in server-client negotiations for software update releases that may or may not have capability to deal with a message. This process optimizes the setup of message processing, for example using the web services policy framework to advertise policies on security, quality, timestamps and the like, and a consumer service to access appropriate services for example those that are encrypted or signed in a certain way.

Abstract: The application relates to a method, system and computer program product for locally handling a query statement destined for a wide area network search engine. The method comprises determining possible results provided after querying local network devices in the system. A query statement destined for the wide area network search engine in intercepted and a relevance value(s) for the possible results with regard to the query statement is determined. Relevant results from the local area network devices are returned in response to the query statement if the relevance value is above a threshold. Relevant local devices may be queried in response to the intercepted query statement or the results may be returned from cached results. Only the results from the local networked devices may be returned if the wider area network search engine query times out.

Abstract: A method is used for editing multimedia content comprising a demonstration of actions performed in utilising a computer application. The computer application has an undo action history and an action being removed from the undo history is detected. An end marker is added 406 to a timeline associated with the multimedia content at a time corresponding to such detection and a start marker is added 408 to the timeline at a time corresponding to the action which was removed from the undo history. A portion of the multimedia content corresponding to that located between the start marker and the end marker is removed from the demonstration. The undo history may include a timestamp associated with each action in the history. The undo history may be accessed externally to the application or thorough an application programming interface or by adding a plugin to the computer application.

Abstract: A test script generation method comprises first parsing a previous test script for a GUI, parsing a model associated with a GUI, and identifying GUI actions identified by keywords that exist in the pre-existing script, and generating a new test script by adding the identified actions. The parsing may be done with a natural language parser, and act upon a manually generated pre-existing script. GUI actions in the pre-existing script may be added to a candidate list, with only possible actions added to the new test script, where the action may be flagged. The new script may be generated from an empty template. If no matching GUI elements are found, then the process halts to allow a user to input the appropriate action; any successful decisions from the candidate list or user-input may be added to a keyword element pair for future manual parsing.
