Abstract: Input to a controller (42) is demodulated by a double-sideband quadrature-carrier modem supplying bits to a microprocessor (70) with a buffer memory (50) for a given number of packets. A validation device (52) checks the content and number of each packet for arrival in the correct sequence. The contents of each valid packet are distributed among the decoders via demultiplexers (11) sepg. signal data from HF band energy and partial autocorrelation coefft. data. The signal in each subband of coded sequences on either side of a missing sequence is analysed and used to conserve periodicity while avoiding abrupt transitions between received and reconstituted signals.

Abstract: Packets input to a buffer register (10) increment the contents of two counters (12,20). At 40ms intervals a real-time clock resets one counter (12) to zero after transferring its contents to a logic circuit (14) which addresses a memory (16). One output from the memory defines the buffer content (L), monitored by the other counter (20), at which the oldest packets in the buffer are suppressed by a cancelling device (22). Another output from the memory stipulates the number (x) of old packets which are to be suppressed. The real-time clock may be replaced by a comparator comparing the buffer output packet count with a fixed quantity.

Abstract: The process includes measuring and delaying the energy of blocks of consecutive output samples to derive a delayed sequence of blocks of output energy values w(n). The energy of blocks of consecutive input samples is measured to derive blocks of input energy values v(n). The w(n) and v(n) are inter-correlated over fixed length periods. The block energies inter-correlation peak value is detected to determine the flat delay length. The length of the echo replica flat delay line is set accordingly. The flat delay is further adjusted through intercorrelating one block of delayed outgoing samples with one block of incoming samples. The block samples intercorrelation peak is detected to determine an accurate flat delay value and the length of the echo replica is further adjusted.

Abstract: Communication controller product CCP (110) which includes line adapters (104-i) having each a storage (301) which is loaded with a general application program during an initialization phase. The line adapters allow the attachment and the communication of different telecommunication entities, e.g. a LAN, a teleprocessing line etc... The CCP (110) is connected by means of a control adapter (103) to a local control terminal (100) which is associated to a storage (101) for storing the different general application programs which are likely to be required by the different line adapters (104-i). The further includes means (202) for storing an access key comprising data relative to the types and the number of line adapters (104-i) of one type which are authorized to be loaded with the general application program stored into the storage (101) controlled by said control terminal (100). The CCP has also means (200, 201, 202) for checking whether a loading request received from one adapter complies with the contents of said stored access key in order to prevent the loading of an unauthorized line adapter. There is also disclosed a method for performing the loading of a line adapter card (104-i) which is attached to a communication controller product CCP, the line adapter card being loadable with a general application program during an initialization phase. The method involves the step of receiving a request from a determined line adapter (104-i) to be loaded with the corresponding general application program which is loaded into said said storage (101), and checking whether the requesting line adapter is included in a list of line adapters which are authorized to be loaded with their corresponding general program application. The method further involves the step of checking whether the number of already line adapters (104-i) which are of the type of the one which requests the loading operations does not exceed a predetermined value, and eventually preventing the loading of the requesting line adapter (104-i) in the case when one of the preceding conditions are not satisfied.

Abstract: The data transfer process involves using nodes where incoming packets are enqueued prior to being forwarded toward their destination. Clipping operations are performed within the nodes by selectively discarding enqueued packets. The packets include an EC field initially loaded to indicate whether the corresponding packet is eligible for clipping or not within the network. The packets from a source terminal are made eligible for clipping on a periodic basis. The sequence is made to designate as eligible for clipping every other packet from the source. Each packet includes a bit position (PC) to be used to bar the clipping of the corresponding packet. If required within a network node, a non eligible for clipping packet may be clipped, with the prevent clipping bit of next from same source being set during its transfer through the node, whereby the next packet is prevented from any subsequent clipping along its path within the network.

Abstract: A method of reconstructing, at the receiving end, digital data defining an encoded voice signal segment lost in transmission between the transmitter and the receiver in a transmission system wherein a low-frequency signal such as a residual baseband signal is derived at the transmitting end from the signal to be encoded and is then distributed among several sub-bands whose sampled contents are quantized separately. The reconstruction method includes a step of analyzing the received signal to detect any missing segment thereof and, as the case may be, to initiate an analysis, within each sub-band, of the segment(s) adjacent to the lost segment, so as to generate a term relating to the period T(k) of the signal so analyzed and to reconstruct a segment of signal of period T(k) intended to be substituted for the lost segment.
