Abstract: Cable securing apparatus comprising: a cone-shaped member 110 having an elongate opening 111 in which a cable is placeable (see figures 3a-c), a holding member 120 having open-sided apertures 121-126 in which the cone-shaped member is houseable, where the widest diameter of the cone-shaped member is greater than the diameter of the open-sided aperture of the holding member. The method of securing a cable comprises: placing a cable in a cone shaped member having an elongate opening along the axis of the cone in which the cable is placeable; and inserting the cone-shaped member in a holding member having at least one open-sided aperture. The cone-shaped member may be a truncated cylindrical cone and may be formed from a flexible material. The holding member may include a closing plate 130 which covers the open sided apertures of the holding member along wall 129. The apparatus may be used to prevent improper unplugging of cables in a datacenter, telecommunication center, electrical equipment hub, or in moving vehicles.
