Abstract: 1,165,490. Travelling sign with hinged reflecting surfaces. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP. 10 Sept., 1968 [16 Sept., 1967], No. 42904/68. Heading G5C. Magnetizable elements 2 having a reflecting surface are secured to a travelling web 1 by a resilient bendable member (3), (Fig. 3, not shown) and can be selectively attracted by a magnetizing station 4 from their usually inclined position so as to lie flat against the web, as at 6. There may be an array of magnetizing stations 4; thus a composite sign can be built up. Holding magnets 5 retain elements 6 in their flat position during viewing. If a light source 7 is used, the inclined elements 2 are invisible to an observer 8.
