Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a user interface function for cursor movement for a subordinate work station (DWS) same as the one for a programmable work station(PWS) by providing throughput required for the definition and control of an improved cursor inside a work station controller (WSC). CONSTITUTION: The rule of the use in the PWS of a text cursor and a selection cursor for making the moving key of a certain keyboard cursor cause a cursor operation defined beforehand is selected and applied to the DWS. Increased storage capacity and control required for improving the refined degree of the cursor are achieved by the interaction with the WSC of the DWS and by utilizing the more refined design function of the WSC for controlling screen display in the DWS. Thus, the user interface function for the cursor movement for the DWS same as the one for the PWS is realized.
