Abstract: 1,256,175. Electrical connector housing. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP. 4 June, 1969 [17 June, 1968], No. 28251/69. Heading H2E. An electrical connector for use with a panelboard (10, Fig. 1) having a plurality of terminal pins 11 and a common ground conductor rail comprises a moulded plastics housing 14 having two longitudinal cavities 16, 15, the lower end of one cavity 16 having a passage 17 to receive a terminal pin and the housing having an opening 18 so that it can receive a portion of the rail in cavity 15 and a pair of fork type spring connectors 20 mounted in the cavities and operable to make electrical contact with the terminal pin and the conductor rail. Locking apertures 22 on the housing engage with projections 20α on the spring connectors. Fig. 4 (not shown) indicates an arrangement wherein the cavities are shaped to receive two pairs of spring connectors. The spring connectors may be connected at the other end through crimped connections 26, 27 to a twin-lead, a tri-lead or a coaxial cable. In Fig. 1 (not shown), the rails (12), (13) may have different heights so that space is available for welded or wrap-type connections.
