The invention is an improvement to a storage virtualization system that enables the system to determine a class of service for potential storage devices and allows a user, administrator, or application to select a minimum class of service for any given type of data. The class of service is based upon factors that reflect a potential storage device's reliability, such as the device type and historical uptime data. In a P2P environment, the class of service also includes additional factors, such as the type of attached processing unit and the type of operating system running the attached processing unit.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, system and program product for reallocating processors in a logically partitioned environment. SOLUTION: The present invention includes a performance enhancement program (PEP) and a reallocation program (RP). PEP enables administrators to designate several parameters and identify provider candidates and receiver candidates. RP compiles performance data with respect to processors, and calculates a composite parameter. For a processor in a provider candidate pool, RP determines whether the processor is a provider or not by comparing the composite parameter with a provider load threshold value. For a processor in a receiver candidate pool, RP determines whether the processor is a receiver or not by comparing the composite parameter with a receiver load threshold value. Next, RP allocates the processor from the provider to a receiver. RP monitors and updates work load statistics based on a moving window or discrete window sampling system. The present invention provides a system or method to provide dynamically packaged Cloud services to customers via a Cloud services registry. The Cloud services registry is dynamic and operates by polling different Cloud service providers and Cloud service databases to ensure that the Cloud services registry is up to date with the latest available Cloud services. The Cloud services registry is available for queries from Cloud customers and abstracts multiple Cloud service providers. By abstracting the Cloud services, the dynamic Cloud services registry creates a modular package of different services from different Cloud service providers based on the query and requested priority for services. The dynamic Cloud registry is dynamically updated based on the level of services that the provider has available. The dynamic registry determines what service best matches the requirements from a Cloud service request (CSR) and returns a personalized set of matching services.
