    Abstract: An electrical connector plug assembly for terminating the conductor elements of a cable to enable disengageable electrical connection with other terminal means. The plug assembly comprises a molded connector housing having a pair of male type metal pins projecting from one end of the housing while the other end portion of the housing defines a cable-receiving channel. A set of combination insulation strippers and conductor connecting members are mounted in the cable-receiving channel of the housing. The insulation strippers are slotted and tapered in their upper portion and perform a wire insulation piercing and stripping function and make electrical contact with the conductor elements of the cable. Conductive members electrically couple the insulation strippers with the projecting pins. A cable-contacting cap member is adapted to overlie the cable receiving channel and is functionally operable to forceably press a cable into the cable-receiving channel wherein the insulation strippers remove the insulation and make electrical contact with the conducting elements of the cable. An actuator grouper member enables the ganging of the electrical connector plug assemblies thereby enabling multiple plug connecting and disengaging operations.

    Abstract: A wafer type circuit package particularly designed for memory applications comprises a plurality of silicon wafer circuit devices disposed as an aligned stack and supported in spaced apart relationship by a plurality of electrical interconnection busses. The interconnection busses are adapted for edge connecting with electrical surfaces on the silicon wafers and with terminal contacts arranged in a base member. The terminal contacts extend through the base member and accommodate external electrical connections with other logic circuitry. A container encapsulates the wafer assembly and is hermetically sealed to the base member to retain coolant therein.

    Abstract: INK JET LINE PRINTER In an ink jet serial printer, a drop collector has horizontal and vertical collector sections or gutters. Unused drops are diverted in the direction of motion during uniform velocity of the ink jet head into the vertical section and into the horizontal section during acceleration/deceleration portions of head motion. A bias potential applied to the vertical drop deflector is removed during acceleration/deceleration to cause unused drops to be directed to the horizontal collector section.

    Abstract: An electrical connector plug assembly for terminating the conductor elements of a cable to enable disengageable electrical connection with other terminal means.     Abstract: CONTROL SYSTEM FOR TIMING HAMMERS OF IMPACT PRINTERS A hammer timing control system for a line printer has a register for continually storing a digital delay fire quantity representative of the actual flight of a controlled hammer. A delay fire counter activated by an initiate fire pulse from hammer selection circuitry of the printer control system counts the timing pulses from a clock means until it registers a count equal to the delay quantity stored in the delay fire register. A comparator circuit is connected to both the delay value register and the counter and generates a hammer fire signal when the delay quantity and the count are equal. The single counter continues counting clock pulses until a second count is registered which is equal to a terminate fire value. The control system provides circuit means responsive to the second count registered in the counter to terminate the hammer fire signal. In one embodiment, the terminate fire circuitry comprises a decode connected to the output of the counter means for detecting the second count condition. In a second embodiment, the control system has a second register which stores a terminate fire quantity which represents a fixed time after the initiate fire signal and prior to hammer impact. In a third embodiment, the counter is an up/down counter which counts in one direction to turn on the hammer driver circuit and in the other direction to turn off the hammer driver circuit. The delay fire quantities for the plurality of hammers are preferably stored in an external memory device for transfer to the individual registers for each of the print hammers. The external storage may be a magnetic record such as a disk.

    Abstract: HOME PULSE COMPENSATION FOR MULTIPLE SPEED LINE PRINTER The control system for a line printer includes compensation circuit means for electronically changing the timing of the reference or home pulse to compensate for changes in the speed of the type characters on a continuous type carrier. The compensation circuit includes a storage register, a counter and a comparison circuit for comparing the content of the storage register and the counter. The counter when activated by a reference pulse generated from a reference mark on the moving type carrier counts subscan pulses generated from timing marks moving with the type characters. The storage register, which is programmable, stores different numeric values dependent on the speed of the type carrier representing different numbers of subscan pulses to be counted by the counter means. The comparator circuit compares the numeric value in the register with the count registered in the counting means. When an equality is detected, the comparator circuit generates a modified reference or sync pulse which is applied to sync control circuitry which checks the character signal produced by the type position circuitry of the printer controls.
