Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal computer for enabling the communication of signals between systems provided with different bus architecture specifications by providing a connector on a substrate without changing the design of a circuit or the like. SOLUTION: By connecting the equipment 80 of an external system provided with a different bus architecture through a riser connector 50 directly connected to the local bus 70 of the system provided with the architecture of Family 1, the compatibility of data is secured. Also, by adopting an intra-circuit emulator(ICE) 80 as an external equipment, the operation of the system processor 72 of the Family 1 is inhibited and the control of a memory 76 or the like inside the Family 1 from the outside is made possible.

Bei einigen Ausführungsformen wird das Migrieren nur ausgeführt, wenn eine sich nicht verschlechternde Verbindung zur Verfügung steht. Wenn keine Verbindungen zur Verfügung stehen, die sich nicht verschlechtern, fällt möglicherweise die Netzwerkeinheit und nicht die Verbindung aus.

Abstract: Migrating virtual machines among networked servers, the servers coupled for data communications with a data communications network that includes a networking device, where migrating includes: establishing, by a virtual machine management module ('VMMM'), one or more virtual machines on a particular server; querying, by the VMMM, the networking device for link statistics of a link coupling the network device to the particular server for data communications; determining, by the VMMM in dependence upon the link statistics, whether the link coupling the network device to the particular server is degrading; and if the link coupling the network device to the particular server is degrading, migrating a virtual machine executing on the particular server to a destination server. In some embodiments, migrating occurs is carried out only if non-degrading link is available. If no non-degrading links are available, the network device, rather than the link, may be failing.

Abstract: A logic controlled gate is inserted in the arbitration logic of a computer system that supports multiple masters on a data bus. In such a system with arbitration for data bus ownership, the gate is so controlled that competitors for the data bus cannot force the main processor (CPU) from the data bus until certain system conditions are met. In particular, a pattern of CPU "hits" to memory cache is recognized as an opportunity for the CPU to relinquish the data bus.
