    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a sector format removed of an ID area for a disk file, which is for recording data of a fixed block system. CONSTITUTION: The disk file is provided with at least one track which is divided into plural sectors. Each sector is divided into a 'servo and restoration' area 30 and data area 32, and a full track number is recorded in a position field 35 within the 'servo and restoration' area. A track start displaying mark is recorded in one selected sector in each track, and a sector start displaying mark is recorded in each of the plural sectors of the track. The number of the sector start displaying marks after the passing of the track start displaying mark are counted to identify a sector. A defective sector is excluded by mapping, through the use of a look-up table.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To increase the number of servo sample with the minimum increase of an overhead zone by interrupting data writing and reading when a micro servo section passes through the related head and reopening data writing when each micro servo section passes over the related head. CONSTITUTION: Data is written into the both part of a data field 27 and either side of each micro servo sector with a sole passage of a disk using a phase continuous clock 32. however a writing current 33, data stream 34 and clock input for the head are temporarily interrupted during each micro servo sector 30 passes through the head. And when the micro servo section passes through the head, data writing and reading are reopened so as to need the minimum recynchronization of data during the period of reading. By this way, the number of servo sample is increased on a recording medium with the minimum increase of the overhead zone.
