PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust detection system capable of accurately detecting dust. SOLUTION: The image of a dust collection sheet 11 which accumulated with the dust on a surface 11s is transmitted through the diffusion sheet 12 in dust detector 10, and photographed by a CCD camera 15 via a lens 13 and a lens 14. The image data of the image, photographed by the dust detector 10, are transmitted to an analysis computer 30 via a cable 18. The image data is processed by a double circumferential difference calculus in the computer 30, to detect the number and a shape of the dust. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection device and an inspection method capable of efficiently and certainly inspecting a display or the like. SOLUTION: In a display automatic inspection device 10, the distribution of the brightness value of the display image of a display unit 20 is evaluated and an abnormal place due to foreign matter or the like is detected. With respect to the portion of the abnormal place, the light emitted from a backlight 22 transmits through a liquid crystal cell 21, the image transmitted through a blue filter part 12B and the image transmitted through a red filter part 12R are respectively picked up by a CCD camera 11, and the magnitude relation of the contrasts of the portions of the abnormal places of the respective picked-up images and the portions of peripheries thereof is compared to certainly discriminate between a foreign matter bonded to the surface of the display unit 20 and a foreign matter getting mixed in the display unit 20. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which a luminance gradient and a local luminance unnevenness caused therein can be extracted and quantitatively evaluated. SOLUTION: The method of evaluating image quality is provided with a step for calculating a first luminance information wherein the first luminance information can be obtained by successively calculating the difference between the sum of luminance values of respective pixels constituting a first pixel group 11a which surrounds a predetermined target pixel 10 and the luminance value of the target pixcel 10, as all pixels as the target pixel, a second step for calculating a second luminance information wherein the second luminance information can be obtained by calculating the difference between the sum of luminance values of respective pixels constituting a second pixel group 12a and the luminance value of the target pixel 10, as all pixels as the target pixel 10, a step for summing wherein a third luminance information can be obtained by summing the first luminance information and the second luminance information, and a step for evaluation wherein the luminance of an image picked up on the basis of the third luminance information obtained through the summing step is evaluated.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly carry out a quantitative flicker inspection. SOLUTION: An image displayed on a display is imaged for a specific time, division into a plurality of minute regions is carried out for each of a plurality of image data regarding the imaged image, and the amount of change in luminance based on the transition of the luminance within the specific time is obtained for each of the plurality of divided minute regions. Then, the amount of change in luminance to a specific frequency is mapped corresponding to the image for generating mapping data, and an occupation region that is occupied by data exceeding a specific threshold is extracted from the mapping data. After that, the total of the amount of change in luminance in the occupation region is obtained, and additionally the total obtained for each specific frequency is added as flicker determination values Tx 1 to Tx 24 . The flicker determination values Tx 1 to Tx 24 are compared with a preset judgement reference value T, thus performing the accept/reject decisions of a flicker. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make quantitatively evaluatable the sensual picture quality of spot, etc., and to stabilize and improve the picture quality of an examination picture, preferably, of an LCD panel by fetching an image on the LCD panel in the state of turning on the examination picture on the LCD panel, processing and evaluating the fetched image. SOLUTION: First of all, a picture for examination is displayed on the LCD panel (step 1). Next, this displayed image on the LCD panel is fetched as the digital data image of 512×512 pixels, for example, and the fetched image is digitized to the value of 256 gradations, for example (step 2). Next, the digitized image is differentiated and the contour part of the spot is made actual (step 3). Next, a picture quality index L is found while utilizing the area for each gradation value (step 4). Afterwards, the found picture quality index L is compared with a predetermined quality standard L0 (step 5). When L is almost equal with L0, it can be known the examined LCD panel is the same quality level as the quality standard (step 6).

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothen the operation of a torque hinge mechanism, to stably fix the mechanism at a desirable angle, and to hold the lubricant for a long time by providing at least two ring-like friction plates to be commonly inserted on a shaft and for pushing to each other with a non-passing recessed part in a friction surface thereof. SOLUTION: Two ring-like friction plates 40, 42 to be commonly inserted on a shaft and for pushing to each other are provided, and the lower side friction plate 40 is formed with a non-passing recessed part 46. In case of standing still, the lubricant 48 is held by the recessed part 46 between the friction plates 40, 42, and the friction plates 40, 42 are made to contact with each other at other parts except for the recessed part 46. When the friction plate 40 is rotated in a rotating direction 52 and the friction plate 42 is rotated in a rotating direction 54, pressure of the lubricant 48 is gradually raised by the inclination 44, and a remarkably high pressure oil film is formed between the friction surfaces 56, 58. This oil film generated by the wedge effect is instantaneously spread over the surface of friction surfaces 56, 58, and the initial torque value is lowered. The lubricant 48 is quickly supplied so as to smoothen the operation, and the mechanism can be stably fixed at a desirable angle, and the lubricant 48 can be stably held for a long time.
