Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize, with maximum efficiency, a transfer of image data consisting of a large capacity in a display direction from a host and a transfer of the data of the amount much smaller than the same in an opposite direction.
SOLUTION: The image display system is equipped with a host side 10 to execute an application, a display side 30 connected to the host side 10, and an interface connecting the host side 10 and the display side 30, and functions to display images on the display side 30. The interface is equipped with a digital I/F50 to execute the data transfer of the large capacity to the display side 30 from the host side 10 and a control signal line 60 for executing the data transfer of the small capacity which is much smaller than the capacity of the first interface but is not zero, to the host from the display. The digital I/F50 packetizes the data and transfers the packet data.

A precharge controller 44 and a voltage switch circuit 46 apply a precharge voltage (+V1 or -V1 ) of the same polarity as the data voltage next applied to respective data lines to respective data line groups A-D through a transistor 42 between the time when the data voltage is applied the last time and the time the data voltage is applied next.
