Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of high reliability for distinguishing one user from the other user by controlling many conditions of a vehicle including performance characteristic and comfortableness characteristic by the use of an on- vehicle computer. SOLUTION: An on-vehicle computer 20 controls several on-vehicle systems through various security levels. Access and change against one within these systems is can be performed only by a user having the security level to control the specific system. A low level security user performs access and change against the preference set value of one or a plurality of on-vehicle systems within the following on-vehicle systems. Namely, a suspension and ride system 300, a comfort system 400, a correspondence-interface system 500, a navigation and pursuit system 600, an audio system 700, and a system monitoring system 290 for the on-vehicle systems.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means which saves time when trade is performed and provides a control to the practice of a selection. SOLUTION: An vehicle processes trade of a commodity between a vendor computor system and an on-board computor system and the trading data are stored so as to be usable to the vendor computor scarcely requesting a talk with an operator of the vehicle. By using a personal area network technology to be adaptable to the vehicle, the on-board computor system corresponds with the vendor computor system. Sequence of a phenomenon is started by practicing in use a related function by a user like this. The operator connects a fuel nozzle with the vehicle. Then, a trade is performed between the vehicle computor and the vendor computor without being supported by the operator. In the trade, selection of a commodity or a service, direct payment from a cash account for the selected commodity and practicing in use an obstruction sequence when obstruction of the system occurs are included. A trading account can be specific to discrimination of the vehicle or discrimination of the operator.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, computer program product, and data processing system for notifying a user of a power management delay. SOLUTION: An O/S receives a system call to use a device from another software. When the device is powered down, an O/S which processes the appearance of a mouse cursor is notified of a cursor change request and expected time delay quantity. A mouse pointer code is able to indicate a series of pictures indicating animations by matching a timing when the availability of the device which is powered down is expected as arbitrary selection. When the device is powered up, the O/S is instructed to change the cursor to the previous appearance, and the cursor is automatically restored to the original state.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle with a method that adjusts setting which performs recording and reproduction of a broadcasting event and is peculiar to a user and to index an audio preference value in each user by receiving the designation of at least two broadcasting events, attaching a priority to at least the two broadcasting events and accessing a broadcasting frequency related to the highest priority designated broadcasting event. SOLUTION: A user can select a prescribed program so as to record it in an audio program memory 795. An audio program reservation 780 identifies commercials in a program and turns off the switch of the memory 795, while a commercial message is being broadcasted. The reservation 780 selectively compresses a prescribed audio program and can reduce the reproduction length of the prescribed audio program by about 10% length of original broadcasting. A user who is approved by an on-vehicle computer system 20 extracts audio preference values from a memory 22 and executes it via an audio system 700.
