Abstract: A linear printing hammer (1) having a discrete spring (7), which is arranged between two hammer shank sections (7-1, 7-2) and can be loaded to tension and compression, to increase the impact speed and reduce the contact time of the printing hammer during impact.

Abstract: The drive arrangement has a pivoted lever (1) comprising a piece of the same material as an armature web (1-2-1) which is formed by a certain section of the lever. The lever has at its free end a rinq-like structure (1-2) with an operating tooth (1-3). The electromagnet unit includes a yoke (2-1) extending perpendicular through the plane of movement of the lever and encircled by an excitation coil. The yoke is divided into two yokes on each side of the movement plane. Each yoke has ring segmental pole faces between which lie the working gaps (G1,G2).

Abstract: In a signal storage apparatus employing a rotating record disk, the resonant frequency of a head carriage assembly is tuned to the rotational speed of the record disk. The head carriage assembly, in following a record track on the record disk, has to accommodate record disk rotational perturbations; i.e., run out, eccentric mounting, etc. Such variations are better accommodated in the head carriage assembly by electrically tuning the head carriage assembly to the rotation of the record disk. In a voice coil head assembly actuator, a pair of opposing coils carry equal current amplitudes. These equal current amplitudes are adjusted to rotational speed of the record disk to thereby continuously tune the head carriage assembly to the record disk rotation.

Abstract: The printing type (3-8-1, 3-8-2) is arranged in e.g. two rows on two imaginary, concentric circles (4, 5). Each row of symbols is struck by its own hammer (HA1, HA2). The hammers strike the symbols at selected crossing or contact points of the circles with the print line (6). The symbol printing for the inner circle (4) is achieved in an azimuthal position by the first hammer (HA1). That for the outer circle (5) is achieved by the second hammer (HA2) at a point resulting from the intersection of the outer circle with the print line (6).

Abstract: The drive has an electromagnet consisting of two or more symmetric magnetic yoke parts with limbs whose pole ends enclose an air gap. The hammer travels between the air gaps. Magnetic armature bridges are assigned, one to each air gap, and lie outside the gaps in the unexcited state and move into them in the excited state of the electromagnet. The excitation coil is wound on at least one yoke limb so that the greater number of its turns runs between two adjacent yoke limbs. Several adjacent yoke limbs (202-3etc.) of the same yoke part (202) or adjacent yoke parts run inside and/or outside the excitation coil (218). The yoke parts have a comb-like cross-section the hammer plane in the direction in which the hammer acts.

Abstract: An electromagnetically oowered impact hammer for printing is designed to give a fast controlled resoonse. The hammer (2) is mounted on the end of a spring arm (1) that is held in the stand-by position by two permanent magnets (4,5). The air gao, and consequently the retaining force, is set by the air gao as is determined by an adjusting screw. The bottom end of the spring is welded (10) into the pole piece (9) of an electromagnetic actuator. The pole piece is . hinged onto the yoke of an electromagnetic actuator (13), with a working air gap (12). When energised the generated force causes the hammer to separate from the permanent magnets.

Abstract: The printing hammer drive uses the energy of a pre-loaded spring, the hammer itself (9) being of small mass, and struck by a large mass (1) mounted on one or more springs (2, 3). This mass is held by a magnet (4) in the pre-loaded starting position in opposition to the springs, so that after release for the printing operation and striking the hammer free oscillation causes it to return to the starting position. This return movement can be aided by a spring stop (6). The springs can be of the leaf type.

Abstract: For producing a transducer access opening in a stack of rotating flexible magnetic record disks, a co-rotating part axially deflects the peripheral edges of selected disks for partially axially separating same. The co-rotating part may take the form of a thin disk, several thin disks, or shaped as a roll. The axis of the roll is obliquely inclined against the disk pack rotational axis. The roll has a resilient surface such that, after the roll has been inserted into the disk pack, the flexible disks move up the outer surface of the roll to be deflected.
