Abstract: Disclosed herein is a polyurethane solution comprising a polyurethane solute dissolved in a trialkyl phosphate solvent. The polyurethane solution, in certain aspects of the invention, is used to coat a substrate, e.g., a textile substrate, to form a polyurethane coated substrate. A method of preparing the polyurethane solution is also provided. Finally, there is also provided herein a method of preparing a thermoplastic polyurethane coated substrate.
