Abstract: Material compuesto de fibras W, que contiene: (A) como matriz de polímero una composición de polímeros termoplásticos A, que contiene: (A1) al menos un copolímero C, que está constituido con una porción de monómeros A-I y monómeros A-II y opcionalmente otros monómeros, (A2) opcionalmente uno o varios colorantes F; y (A3) opcionalmente uno o varios aditivos H; y (B) fibras B, cuya superficie presenta grupos funcionales B-I, que establecen con los monómeros A-I, pero no con los monómeros A-II, un enlace covalente, en donde la transparencia a la luz del material compuesto de fibras W es al menos 10 % más elevada que en un material compuesto de fibras W comparable, en el que los monómeros A-I están totalmente sustituidos por monómeros A-II, y en donde opcionalmente la resistencia a la flexión del material compuesto de fibras W es al menos 20 % más elevada que en un material compuesto de fibras W comparable, en el que los monómeros A-I están totalmente sustituidos por monómeros A-II.

Abstract: The invention relates to the use of a thermoplastic fiber composite material, containing: a) a thermoplastic molding material A as a matrix, b) a layer of reinforcing fibers B, and c) optionally an additive C, wherein the layer of reinforcing fibers B is embedded in the thermoplastic molding material A, and wherein the thermoplastic molding material A has at least one chemically reactive functionality which reacts with chemical groups at the surface of the reinforcing fiber component B during the production process of the fiber composite material, and wherein the thermoplastic molding material A functioning as a matrix is transparent or translucent and has in relation to matrices, which do not have any chemically reactive functionality, an about 10 % higher transparency or translucency for white light when measured at a layer thickness of 1 mm. Said use according to the invention is particularly suitable for the production of transparent or translucent molding bodies, films and coatings.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a fibre composite material W of increased translucency and/or mechanical strength, comprising a copolymer C encompassing monomers A-1, where A-1 form covalent bonds with functional groups B-1 on the surface of fibres B embedded in the fibre composite material W, and this fibre composite material W has greater translucency and/or mechanical strength than a fibre composite material W in which the copolymer C contains no A-1. The present invention further embraces a method for producing a fibre composite material W of increased translucency and/or mechanical strength.
