Abstract: Method for computer-based expansion of an electronic dictionary for use in speech recognition, whereby each dictionary entry is assigned a dictionary entry generation model with which the actual dictionary entry can be realized. The difference between a candidate dictionary entry generation model and an actual entry is determined and if it is greater than a threshold value an out of vocabulary value is assigned to it, while if it is less, then the word already exists and it is not inserted in the dictionary. Independent claims are also included for the following:- (a) a device for computer-based expansion of an electronic dictionary for use in speech recognition; (b) a speech recognition device; (c) a computer program storage medium and; (d) a computer program element for expanding an electronic speech recognition dictionary.
