Abstract: The transceiver device includes an optical transmitter unit (1) and an optical receiver unit (2), arranged on a common carrier in a common housing (3). The transmitter unit and the receiver unit are pref. enclosed by a common screening metal plate, a section of the plate being arranged between the transmitter unit and the receiver unit. The housing (3) may include two chambers, separated by a dividing wall. The transmitter unit is arranged in one chamber, while the receiver unit is arranged in the other chamber. The housing may be made of an electrically conductive plastics material.
