Abstract: The method involves using a command localization indicator relating to a forthcoming command, to identify a next-data-prefetch indicator. The memory planes (60,64,68) are searched to find data relating to the next-data-prefetch indicator. These data are then transferred to the low-plane memory of the computer system. An apparatus for data prefetch is also claimed.
