Abstract:
A ratchet wrench has a handle (12) and a ratchet housing (18) that both extend along a first axis (A). A drive body (62) is connected for rotation relative to the ratchet housing about a second axis (B), perpendicular to the first axis. A yoke (40) substantially encircles the body and is connected to the ratchet housing and a direction selector (76) is coupled to the drive body (62) and extends along the second axis. The direction selector is rotatable about the second axis with respect to the drive body between a first position, in which the yoke is fixed for counterclockwise rotation with the drive body about the second axis, and a second position, in which the yoke is fixed for clockwise rotation with the drive body about the second axis. A direction actuator (42) is connected to the direction selector for rotation about the first axis to move the direction selector between the first and second positions.
Abstract:
A tool housing which in one aspect includes a body (52) defining a head portion (53) with a handle portion (54) depending therefrom to define a forward (55) and/or a rear (57) junction. A metal reinforcing member (70) is configured to span along an inside surface of the body from the head portion to the handle portion such that the reinforcing member bridges either the forward or rear junction. In another aspect, the tool assembly comprises a tool housing body, a motor (100) positioned within the tool body housing, a drive mechanism (120) connected with the motor to define a unitary motor/drive mechanism assembly, and at least one elastic isolating member (130) extending about a portion of the motor/drive mechanism assembly such that the motor/drive mechanism assembly is elastically isolated relative to the housing body.
