Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system and a communication apparatus. SOLUTION: A software module executes selection of a circuit switching or packet switching for a communication session, according to stored mode preference data for expressing channel requirements and channel usage of an application. In step 80, the software module monitors the usage of connection during the communication session, to determine the transport efficiency of each current session. This information is used for modifying the stored mode preference data.
